Gum Disease
Treatment.
Early intervention saves teeth. Dr. Baradaran has treated thousands of Beverly Hills patients, from first-stage gingivitis to advanced periodontitis.
Understanding the Disease
What Is Gum Disease?
Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection of the gums and supporting bone. It begins as gingivitis, a reversible inflammation that responds to professional cleaning and better home care. Left untreated, it advances to periodontitis, where bacteria migrate beneath the gumline and destroy the bone anchoring your teeth. That bone loss cannot grow back on its own.
The numbers are striking: 47% of adults over 30 have some form of periodontal disease, most without knowing it. The disease is often silent until significant damage has occurred.
Common warning signs include gums that bleed when you brush, gum recession (teeth appearing longer), persistent bad breath, and teeth that feel loose or have shifted. Beyond the mouth, research links periodontal disease to cardiovascular disease, diabetes complications, and preterm birth. Your mouth is a window to your overall health.
Treatment Options
Precision Care at Every Stage.
Non-Surgical
Scaling & Root Planing
The cornerstone of periodontal therapy. Under local anesthetic, Dr. Baradaran removes bacterial deposits from below the gumline and smooths the root surfaces so gum tissue can reattach. Most early-to-moderate cases resolve completely with one to two appointments, no surgery required.
Laser Therapy
LANAP Laser Treatment
LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is the FDA-cleared alternative to traditional gum surgery. A precisely calibrated laser targets diseased tissue while leaving healthy tissue intact. No scalpel, no sutures, and patients often return to normal activity the same day.
Surgical
Osseous Surgery
For advanced periodontitis with deep bone defects, osseous surgery allows Dr. Baradaran to reshape the underlying bone and eliminate the pockets where bacteria thrive. Combined with bone grafting, it restores significant structural support.
Gum Recession
Pinhole Surgical Technique
When gum disease causes recession, the Pinhole Surgical Technique corrects it through a tiny access point. No donor tissue, no sutures, minimal discomfort. Multiple teeth treated in a single appointment, with immediate results.
Treating the Whole Picture
Gum Disease and Implants.
Active periodontal disease is the leading cause of implant failure. Before any implant can be placed, the infection must be fully resolved and the bone stabilized. Most practices send you to a periodontist for treatment, then back to a general dentist for the implant. That adds months and unnecessary handoffs.
Dr. Baradaran handles both. He treats the disease, evaluates the bone, and places the implant in one practice under one specialist. No referral shuffle. No delays. No gaps.
"Periodontal health is the foundation everything else is built on. Get that right first."
